Mathematics Instructor | Laurel Oaks 2024-25 SY
REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess high-school (7-12) Mathematics teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Follows prescribed curriculum using approved textbooks, workbooks and instructional materials.
- Designs meaningful and sequential instruction and relevant learning activities to meet instructional goals.
- Demonstrates knowledge of content, pedagogy and knowledge of students’ competencies and interests.
- Prepares and uses daily lesson plans and submits to administration in prescribed manner.
- Uses support services and resources to enhance the teaching and learning process.
- Plans the management of allocated budget for daily operations.
- Creates an environment where creativity and student engagement are valued and encouraged.
- Assists students in constructing their own learning and holding students responsible for their own behavior.
- Maintains positive classroom management by setting and communicating high, consistent expectations for learning and achievement.
- Practices reinforcement techniques to foster the positive self-image of students.
- Organizes classroom and/or laboratory in a manner that is conducive to learning.
- Provides maintenance and security of the facility and equipment.
- Manages the program/teaching supplies.
- Promotes and maintains a safe environment as defined by district policies and procedures.
- Assures appropriate supervision of students at all times.
- Develops and incorporates performance tasks and projects that call for application of essential and enduring knowledge and skills.
- Adapts learning activities to meet the competency level of each student.
- Incorporates current practices from business, industry and education.
- Communicates expectations to students and parents.
- Clearly identifies and presents learning objectives to students on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Acts in a professional manner at all times and as an effective role model for students.
- Utilizes technology to enhance the teaching and learning process.
- Reflects on and modifies teaching practices based on student learning and achievement.
- Participates in professional growth activities.
- Follows prescribed district and campus policies and procedures regarding grades, assessments and other areas as specified by the building management team.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of technology utilized by the district.
- Must satisfy all job-related attendance requirements.
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
Availability of Position: August 1, 2024
Salary Range: Minimum $46,999.56
Salary is commensurate with educational preparation and work experience – 185-day instructional contract.

Experience as a Science Instructor preferred.

Adult Education Aviation Instructor | Part Time | Laurel Oaks
Requirements:
- Must possess or qualify for adult career-technical education teaching permit through the Ohio Department of Education in Industrial & Engineering Technologies.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics Certificate is required.
- Minimum of five years recent work experience.

LOCATION: Laurel Oaks Wilmington – Adult Workforce Development
HOURS: Monday – Thursday, hours will vary as needed up to 28 hours per week.
SALARY: $29.65 /per hour (Medical/Dental Benefits – not included)
